The Palos Verdes Golf Club (PVGC) hosted the Ladies Professional Golf Association’s (LPGA) for the 2023 DIO Implant LA Open from March 27th to April 2nd.  Competing for the $1.75 million purse were 144 golfers including sixteen of the top twenty golfers on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings (RWWGR), major championship winners, multiple winners on the LPGA tour, and notable alumni from UCLA, USC, and Pepperdine University.

Therapy Dog Maya recently visited a group mental health session for teenage girls at Torrance-based Del Amo Hospital. As she worked her way around the circle, each of the troubled teens had a chance to pet, scratch or hug her. Maya lingered a moment with one 15-year-old girl, who turned to Maya’s handler, Jim, and said quietly, “This is the happiest time I have had since I’ve been here.” Then she smiled.
