Summer is wrapping up, but there are still plenty of activities and events around the Peninsula that will help you usher in a new season. Check out some of the events you want to add to your calendar for September.


Wedbush Hermosa Beach Open

If you enjoy volleyball, this event is for you. The Wedbush Hermosa Beach Open will feature professional beach volleyball matches. The event is designed to celebrate the roots of beach volleyball, to bring the community together and to further the sport globally. Check out more information here.

Brian McKnight Concert

Brian McKnight, known for songs like "Back at One," "One Last Cry" and "Love of My Life" will be bringing soulful tunes to Redondo Beach in September. Doors will open at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center at 5:30 p.m. Check out ticket options here.

Fourth Annual End of Summer Boutique & Fundraiser

In partnership with The Breast Cancer Angels, this annual event will raise money to provide financial and emotional assistance to those undergoing breast cancer treatment in the local area. There will be food, drinks and a raffle at the event, and it will feature 22 women-owned small businesses. See more information here.

South Bay Police & Fire Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament

This will be the 28th annual golf tournament for the South Bay Police & Fire Memorial Foundation. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 11 a.m. There will also be lunch, dinner, awards, raffles and a silent auction. Rombauer Wine Dinner

The Chart House is hosting a five-course culinary experience paired with wines from Rombauer in Napa Valley. The first course will feature thyme roasted peach toast paired with sauvignon blanc; the second course will feature fried goat cheese with chardonnay; the third course will pair a black pepper crusted king salmon with merlot; the fourth course will offer grilled lamb chops alongside cabernet sauvignon; and the fifth course will feature a molten chocolate cake paired with zinfandel. 10K Swim For Mental Health

This 10K swim will support mental health services for youth across the South Bay through the South Bay Youth Project. Participants can choose between 1-mile, 5K or 10K distances and can either swim or kayak. Registration includes a long-sleeve T-shirt, cap and lunch. Check out more information and register here.

The New Jet Set Disney Songbook -  Cabaret Jazz Supper Club

This performance by Matt Johnson and The New Jet Set will offer a retro jazz twist on beloved Disney songs. 

“This captivating concert blends the timeless melodies of Disney’s animated films with the infectious rhythms of swing, bebop, and big band jazz,” the website states. “Johnson’s dynamic narration and behind-the-scenes stories add depth to the music, making this an enchanting experience for Disney fans and jazz lovers alike.”

There will be an option for Supper Club Seating, which will include a buffet-style meal from the Red Onion in addition to a no-host bar and two 45-minute sets of jazz music with a 15-minute intermission.

Toast on the Coast

This coastal wine and food festival will feature live music, drinking, dancing and a live auction that will benefit the Peninsula Education Foundation. Expect gourmet food tastings, shopping, games and unlimited beer, wine and cocktails featuring local restaurants and breweries. There are multiple tiers of tickets to purchase, ranging from general admission to a luxury private cabana or a lighthouse family circle. Check out more information and purchase tickets here.

AltaSea’s 2025 Blue Hour: The Culinary Arts of Blue Food

This annual fundraiser will focus on exploring the Blue Food sector, recognizing celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern. Zimmern has placed emphasis on ocean health and sourcing food sustainably in his career. Expect chef demonstrations, live music and more. Check out ticket information here.

20th Annual Rods, Rides and Relics Car Show

The Redondo Pier Association will be hosting a car show featuring more than 100 classic cars. It will be held on the west end of the Redondo Beach Pier and will be free for the community to enjoy. Check out details here.
