Most of us have a vase or two lurking in a cupboard, but lots of ordinary things can be turned into stylish containers, so before you rush out to buy anything, look around your home. Look out for pieces of vintage china, crystal, silver, and teapots which can often be picked up cheaply at secondhand stores, antique markets and even yard sales. Perhaps you’re lucky enough to have inherited some of these items. A rose bowl, a round vase with a small opening, the kind that used to sit on Grandmother’s dining table in the days when there were dining tables, Sunday dinners and grandmother who cooked. Remember, there are no wrong arrangements. The most important thing to keep in mind when creating arrangements and developing your artistic eye is to have fun and enjoy your masterpiece for as long as it lasts.
