The vintage charm and feminine atmosphere of a mother’s tea party is a great way too reminiscent over sweet memories and catch up on the current events in our life. Include other important women in your life and reach out to those who may not have a mother figure.

Forget generic shop-bought gifts that don’t require much thought or effort-a Mother’s Day Tea is easy, thoughtful and the perfect way to treat that special mom. Hosting a tea for mom is a great way to spend quality time with her and give her one thing she really wants – your time!

A small intimate gathering gives you and your mother time to have uninterrupted girl talk and enjoy some tea and delicious tea treats and a chance to dress and be ladies with your hats, gloves and pearls. I highly recommend doing this at least once. There are so many possibilities when it comes to theme. Pick something you know your mom would love.

If there ever was a time for using the good china, this is it. Mom deserves it. Don’t be afraid to mix and match. If you don’t have any fine china don’t worry just visit your local flea market or thrift store and start your own collection of vintage tea cups, saucers, tea pots and glasses. Now this is the most important idea! Make your Teatime a Memorable one, possibility starting a new family tradition for future Mother’s Day.

When picking you vintage tea cups and saucers look for those thin fine delicate ones with bright colors or light floral patterns. When picking your teaspoons think antique silver.  Silver teaspoons add such elegance to the tea party. How special is that to have MOM sip her tea from a gorgeous vintage tea cup and saucer and stir her tea with a silver antique teaspoon. These gorgeous tea cups and teaspoons will bring a joy to mom’s eyes for sure and bring a little luxury to your tea time. If your luck enough these same tea cups whose stories may have fancied you in childhood.

When it comes to the type of teas the choice should revolve around moms favorite! If you have guests that are new to tea, doing “tea tasting” this will give your guests the opportunity to choose their favorite. To really make it special you can offer champagne or tea cocktails.

This celebration is for mom so the menu should reflect around her favorite food and tea. Remember, store bought or homemade, the best menu is created with love!

When you are planning your theme you will want to decorate the table and the room to set the mood for your tea. A simple but elegant bouquet of mom’s favorite fresh flowers in a vintage vase would be perfect centerpiece for the table. Don’t overlook the music. Music at the party lends an ease to the gathering. Play classical or smooth jazz softly in the background.

Now, if all this sounds a little over whelming for you the secret is there is not secret. With just some basic planning, a little creativity and good food, you can easily create a charming mother’s day tea that will no doubt become a yearly tradition with memoires that do last.

Wishing all the Mothers out there A Happy Mother’s Day!
