Earth Day Celebration at the White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Apr 23, 9 am - 12 pm. - Celebrate Earth Day volunteering outdoors to help care for a native plant demonstration garden and habitat for local wildlife. Earth Day Film Celebration & Presentation presented by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy.  April 24,  Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, 4 pm - A special selection of two adventurous and inspirational films about nature that will move, transfix and energize you to make a difference in our world.  Tickets $20 at the door, $15 advanced purchase online at pvplc.org/calendar.  VIP Pre-film Sponsor Wine Reception - Sponsorships still available at pvplc.org

VOLUNTEER TRAININGS

Team Leader Training, Saturday, April 9th, 9am – 12pm.  Join our group of team leaders to help lead Outdoor Volunteer Days.  You can gain leadership experience while enjoying nature and caring for critical wildlife habitat! 16 years or older.  Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com

Weed Warrior Training, Saturday, April 9th, 12:30pm – 2pm.  Be part of a group of "warriors" who eradicate invasive weeds to make way for native species to be planted to improve the health and beauty of our natural lands on the Peninsula.  Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com

ACTIVITIES

George F Canyon Guided Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, April 2nd, 10:30am.  You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin.  Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. No RSVP required.  Rain cancels.  

Second Saturday Guided Nature Walk -  Linden H. Chandler Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, April 9th, 9am.  Experience this 28-acre nature preserve with native plants blooming in restored habitat to serve as home for the rare Palos Verdes blue butterfly.  Moderate. Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, April 23rd, 9am – 12pm.  Get outdoors and make a difference by helping to remove invasive grasses to enable rare coastal sage scrub habitat to thrive as a home of local native plants and wildlife. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday,  April 30th, 9am – 12pm.  Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer at the newest restoration site on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping eradicate invasive weeds to protect native species.
