Guided Nature Walk at George F Canyon Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 10th, 9am.  Wander along a willow-filled canyon stream with restored coastal sage scrub habitat.  Look down on the Peninsula’s rare Catalina Schist from one of the few places you can see the rock exposed.  Easy to moderate. Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Team Leader Training, Saturday, September 10th, 9am.  Looking for a leadership opportunity and love the outdoors?  Join this training to learn skills to help protect and maintain natural areas for people and local wildlife to enjoy. ACTIVITIES

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 3rd, 9am – 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site to create a home for rare cactus wrens and gnatcatchers with beautiful views of Catalina Island. George F Canyon Guided Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 3rd, 10:30am.  You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin.  Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. No RSVP required.  Rain cancels.  

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 17th, 9am – 12pm.  Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer at the newest restoration site on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping eradicate invasive weeds to protect native species. Guided Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 17th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean.  Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Park in the lot at the dead-end of 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.  Reservations not required.  Preserve parking available in gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.

Volunteer with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Rapid Response Team, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am - 12pm.  Work alongside the field staff around the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve to help protect important wildlife habitat.  Help with trail maintenance, fence building, installing signage and more!  No experience needed. 15 and up.
