Cactus Wren Training, Saturday, March 4th, 9am – 12pm.  Become a Community Scientist and help monitor the charismatic and rare cactus wren in our preserves! This is an annual program to track the birds, their nests, and their success in rearing babies from March to August. Ages 16+. Guided Nature Walk at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, March 11th, 9am.  Explore rare cactus wren and California gnatcatcher restored habitat.  Enjoy beautiful views of Catalina Island and flowers in bloom. ACTIVITIES

George F Canyon Guided Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, March 4th, 10:30am.  You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin.  Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. No RSVP required.  Rain cancels. 

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, March 4th and March 25th, 9am – 12pm.  Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat. Students can receive community service hours.  Sign up at https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com/. 

Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, March 11th, 9am – 12pm.  Help care for the gardens at White Point Nature Preserve by planting native shrubs, removing invasive weeds, watering native plants, grooming trails and more! Sign up at: https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com/

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Agua Amarga – Lunada Canyon with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, March 18th, 9am – 12pm. Help remove invasive weeds and care for a community restoration site to benefit wildlife. Students can receive community service hours.  Sign up at https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com/. 

Guided Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, March 18th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean.  Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Reservations not required.  Preserve parking available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.

Volunteer with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Rapid Response Team, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am - 12pm.  Work alongside the field staff around the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve to help protect important wildlife habitat.  Help with trail maintenance, fence building, installing signage and more!   Students can receive community service hours.  No experience needed. 15 and up. Community Outreach

Do you enjoy talking with new people and sharing information about the Conservancy? Join the Community Outreach volunteer team! Help us engage local community members at public events and greet participants at nature walks. No experience needed and flexible schedule. 18 and up.
