California Art Club 114th Annual Gold Metal Exhibition By Writer and Contributor Lynne LaFleur

Celebrating the Heritage and Practices of Traditional Fine Arts Worldwide

June 11 - August 9, 2025 at VEFA Gallery

The California Art Club, established in 1909, has chosen VEFA Gallery as the venue for their 114th Annual Gold Metal Exhibition. With this prestigious event and several eclectic exhibitions this year, VEFA Gallery has quietly exploded onto the art scene with their mission to support and explore art and culture in Southern California and internationally.

I recently attended the Artists’ Reception June 8th then the following Saturday, the highly anticipated lecture by renown Jean Stern, Director Emeritus of the Urvine Museum, who specializes in the paintings of the California Impressionist Period. His knowledge of California Impressionist painters is formidable. Elaine Adams, Executive Director and CEO of the California Art Club, along with husband Peter Adams, a Signature Artist Member of the California Art Club, who is also represented in the exhibition, spearheaded the afternoon’s introductions and first award presentations.

And not-to-be-missed are the series of lectures and demonstrations each Saturday afternoon wrapping up with a Closing Day Paint- and Sculpt-Out on August 9th! There are 137 artists represented here, so let’s take a quick peek at just a few of the over 170 paintings and sculptures – Enjoy!
