I’ve always had a love for photography. Being a 7 day a week mortgage broker, I never had the time to devote to it until 2020 when the pandemic struck and there was literally no place to go. That’s when I started frequenting the Esplanade in Redondo Beach. Being at the ocean was calming and beautiful and soothed my soul. Until that time, I didn’t know we had local dolphins just off the coast. I decided to bring my camera with me on my walks, and, well… the rest is history.

I love photographing dolphins. They’re so joyous and beautiful. My heart skips a beat when they jump and surf, and it never gets old.

I also discovered the joy of photographing other wildlife, especially birds. I never knew we had so many incredible species practically, and sometimes actually in our own backyards! Their colors, patterns and behaviors grow more and more amazing as I learn more about them.

I try to get shots from interesting perspectives rather than the normal documentary image. I enjoy when I capture an image that has some humor in it as well.

Now that I’m retired from being a mortgage broker, I photograph almost every day. You can find me on the Esplanade most mornings in my blue or magenta hat, scouring the coastline for dolphins and when we get really lucky, whales come in amazingly close to shore.

Photography has opened up a new chapter for me, and it’s brought me so much joy. It warms my heart to know my photographs have touched so many others, as evidenced by the frequent feedback I receive online and in person, as well as having over 1,800 people join my group on Nextdoor.com just to see my photos. I share a new one on most days.

I love photographing wildlife and landscapes. As a resident of Redondo Beach, I have the opportunity to photograph dolphins from the Esplanade on a regular basis and share them with our community and beyond. I also love to photograph birds. Their variety, behaviors and feather intricacies are endlessly fascinating.

It brings me great joy to know my photographs make others happy. I started a group on Nextdoor.com in 2021 in which to share them. It has now grown to over 1800 members across the country. I am honored.
