SPECIAL EVENTS 

Guided Nature Walk at Forrestal Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 9th, 9am.  Appreciate some of the best wildflower viewing and dramatic geological formations on the cliffs of this former basalt quarry. Full Moon Walk at George F Canyon by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Friday, September 1st, 8pm and Friday, September 29th, 7:30pm – Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy for a naturalist guided experience on a moonlit trail to see nature's nocturnal sights.  Ages 8+.  $12 per person.  Advance reservations are required. Space fills up quickly so don't wait to sign up at: pvplc.org/calendar

Native Plant Sales by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy– Saturday, September 9th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 1pm, Saturday, September 23rd at White Point Nature Education Center 10:30am – 1pm. Monthly Plant Sales are Back! Come to our nature centers during our sales to learn more about growing local native plants and purchase some for your garden!

New Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Docent Orientation, Thursday, September 14, 10:00am - 11:30am. Virtual event. Discover the many ways you can enjoy sharing your love of nature with students and visitors.  Sign up at  https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com/ 

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove, Saturday, September 16th 9am – 12pm. Join us for International Coastal Clean-Up Day at Abalone Cove Reserve! We will be removing invasive weeds to restore and improve habitat at this reserve along the coast. https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com 

National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 23rd at White Point Nature Preserve 9am-12pm.  Join us to celebrate National Public Lands Day by caring for the White Point Native Plant Demonstration Garden. ACTIVITIES 

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 2nd, 9am – 12pm and Saturday, September 30th, 9am – 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site to create a home for rare cactus wrens and gnatcatchers with beautiful views of Catalina Island. George F Canyon Guided Family Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 2nd, 10:30am.  You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin.  Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Sunday, September 3rd, 9am – 12pm and Sunday, September 17th, 9am – 12pm.  Help care for the gardens at White Point Nature Preserve by planting native shrubs, removing invasive weeds, watering native plants, grooming trails and more! Sign up at: https://pvplc.volunteerhub.com/

 Outdoor Volunteer Day with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy at Agua Amarga, Saturday, September 9th, 9am – 12pm. Celebrate California Biodiversity Day by helping to remove invasive weeds and care for a community restoration site to benefit wildlife.  Guided Family Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, September 16th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean.  Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Preserve parking available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo del Mar, San Pedro. Volunteer with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Rapid Response Team, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am - 12pm.  Work alongside the field staff to help protect important wildlife habitat.  Help with trail maintenance, fence building, installing signage and more!   Students can receive community service hours.  No experience needed. 15 and up.
