Four Legged Friends Around the Peninsula and Maybe a Little Bit Beyond By Photographer and Contributor Dianne Gowder

I meet a lot of lovely dogs on my daily walks, some have become my friends, others I just meet in passing. Many don’t keep still long enough to have their photo taken but all of them seem to share my joy of being outdoors in this beautiful area.

I thought I might introduce you to a few.

I met this guy close up and personal through a fence. I think he makes a good cover model.

Meet Uno and Mali, they are my longtime walking companions as they belong to a dear friend of mine.

As you can see in the bottom photo they are enjoying a hike in the Portuguese Bend Reserve.

Chase and Macy, the spaniels on the left, walk around the Peninsula almost as much as I do. I see them in Palos Verdes and San Pedro. They are brother and sister. Aren’t they adorable?

The little cutie on the right is Augie. I see him when I walk around the Marina …he’s not sure if he likes me or not yet!

Meet Lucy, she’s quite a character and such a happy dog. I often run into het at the Nature preserve or in the park in San Pedro. She’s a big girl with a lovely personality.

And in the red bandana.. we have Bella! Bella is to be found early in the mornings in San Pedro, she’s super friendly.

Say hello to Daisy on the left, and Bailey, the sweetest pit bulls you could hope to meet. They live in San Pedro.

Cricket is quite famous, he lives in PV and has had a children’s book written about him, and Cleo, on the right enjoy a good hike out on the Peninsula, she’s rather fond of rabbits!

The two dogs guarding their home, on the left, always bark at me if I walk the trail behind their home, they look so cute but I think they are pretty good watch dogs. While the two on the right and just happy bundles of fur. They are still young and enjoy a good romp outside.

Dianne loves to walk and she tries to do at least 3 miles every day before she heads out to work. Her love of  photography evolved from her walks.

“ I have always been amazed by scenery here and more and more I found myself stopping to capture the beauty of my surroundings. As I shared my work I realized that very few people were even aware of what they have on their doorstep!”

Dianne has made it her mission to share the beauty through her photographs and she takes her friends on walks as often as possible.
