Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, July 2nd. 9am – 12pm.  Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer at the newest restoration site on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping eradicate invasive weeds to protect native species. George F Canyon Guided Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, July 2nd, 10:30am.  You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin.  Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. No RSVP required.  Rain cancels.  

 

Guided Nature Walk at the Vicente Bluffs Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, July 9th, 9am.  Follow the bluff top from Point Vicente to Oceanfront Estates during El Segundo blue butterfly flight season in an area containing restored coastal sage scrub habitat.  Easy. NEW!  Guided Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve, Saturday, July 16th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean.  Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Park in the lot at the deadend of 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.  Reservations not required.  

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, July 23rd, 9am – 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site to create a home for rare cactus wrens and gnatcatchers with beautiful views of Catalina Island. Family Nature Club Guided Hike at George F Canyon Nature Preserve, Saturday, July 30th, 9am.  Join us for a special Nature Club guided hike at George F Canyon Nature Preserve! We will explore the canyon habitat, including all the critters and plants that call it home. Meet us on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.

Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, July 30th, 9am – 12pm.  Get outdoors and make a difference by helping to remove invasive grasses to enable rare coastal sage scrub habitat to thrive as a home of local native plants and wildlife. PVP Land Conservancy Rapid Response Team, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am - 12pm.  Work alongside the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy staff around the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve to help protect important wildlife habitat.  Help with trail maintenance, fence building, installing signage and more!  No experience needed. 15 and up.
