The Flag! Why It Is So Important and What It Means to Me

Flag Day is a celebration of the American flag that occurs each year on the anniversary of the flag’s official adoption, June 14.

The flag is so important that its history tells the story of AMERICA itself. It represents the FREEDOM, DIGNITY, and true meaning of being an AMERICAN. It’s been with us through our war times, our sad times but also in times of our greatest joys and triumphs.

The AMERICAN Flag is a symbol for everything that our country represents. It is not to be disrespected or dishonored, which why AMERICANS flag their flags proudly. You can ask AMERICANS what the flag means to them, you will get many different answers.

What the Flag means to me. Pride, being an AMERICAN means belonging to a land of democracy, freedom, and opportunity. We are lucky to belong to a nation that values our input and ideas. Sacrifice, functions under the notion we serve without a guarantee of personal reward, and it’s about devoting oneself to a higher public cause. Opportunity, AMERICA is the Land of Opportunity that no other country offers. Hope, the United States of America is a Beacon of Hope. Hope has been a tradition of our country since it was founded. Strength, is one of the main pillars of AMERICA. Freedom, AMERICA means freedom.

When we fly the AMERICAN flag, we are honoring all that have fought for our freedom. We show our respect to those that are responsible for our freedom. Not all of us are capable or willing to make that sacrifice, so we ensure that the ones that do know how much they are appreciated.
