Crushing on Clouds By Photographer and Contributor Dianne Gowder

Do you ever look up and just admire the clouds?

I don’t mean just at sunset or sunrise but throughout the day. I often notice that we have some wonderful cloud formations here. I am not a meteorologist so I can’t explain the reasons for that, but I certainly appreciate it. Let me show you what I am talking about.

This first one I took in Palos Verdes Estates a few days ago. I love the way the just make a beautiful scene look even better. Clouds come in all varieties. I believe they call these mackerel clouds ( we call them that in the UK, where I am from) I think they are probably my favorites, like little patterns in the sky. These shots were taken in San Pedro at Cabrillo Beach and Cabrillo way Marina .

If you  like some drama and vibrant color in your skies  Nature will be happy to provide something for everyone. These shots were taken at the end of three very different days.

One place that consistently provides glorious views, complete with beautiful clouds, is the trail that goes around Terranea, I generally begin my morning walk around 6 am and it is the most wonderful way to start the day.  It’s impossible to tire of these views, They always takes my breath away, ( just like the song).

I will finish with three of my favorites and hope that you will enjoy the photos and always.

Always remember to look up.

Dianne loves to walk and she tries to do at least 3 miles every day before she heads out to work. Her love of  photography evolved from her walks.

“ I have always been amazed by scenery here and more and more I found myself stopping to capture the beauty of my surroundings. As I shared my work I realized that very few people were even aware of what they have on their doorstep!”

Dianne has made it her mission to share the beauty through her photographs and she takes her friends on walks as often as possible.
