An Update On MiralesteFest: A Celebration of a Special School and Community

Calling all Miraleste Marauders, faculty, staff and families!   MiralesteFest is going to be the party of the year!  Here are all the details of this not-to-be-missed 2 day event.

Festivities begin at 4pm on Friday July 25th with a Hall of Fame ceremony and Marauder Spirit Award.  Longtime Palos Verdes resident Annie Ruth is the winner of the Marauder Spirit award.  All CIF teams are welcome to be recognized and the 1981 National Champion Boys Tennis team is reuniting with Coach Offut.

The event poster is an original piece done by world famous John Van Hamersveld, of Endless Summer fame.  Only 500 copies of his MiralesteFest original poster will available to purchase ($40 small / $80 large - 250 of each).  John and his wife Alida will be there both days to sign and also sell his other artwork.  There will be a special unveiling of the permanent display for the History of Miraleste High School in the gym trophy case.  Items have been collected over the past 4 years.  The Hall of Fame names will be enshrined as well as original writing by Ante Perkov, class of 1990 called "The Marauder Legacy" which will tell the story of Miraleste and inspire the Miraleste Intermediate School Marauders to follow in the footsteps of those who came before them.

Dinner on Friday will be provided by local favorites South Bay Food Co on Friday (food orders must be placed in advance; link below), and the first ever bar on a school campus, “The Drunken Marauder’ will be open for beer and wine both nights.  Wines will be provided by Greg Becker of Beckers Child Wines and Brew Halls has partnered with MiralesteFest for many different beer options.  I Love Hectors Tacos will be on campus for dinner Saturday and the Miraleste Intermediate PTSA will host a snack bar both days as well.

Burnout Stoke is coming back with PV retro merchandise, plus a new line of Miraleste and MiralesteFest shirts, hats, and hoodies.

The check in will be in the attendance office windows, which also will offer a check in area for personal items, and drink tickets for sale at $10 each.

The Slaughter in the Water alumni water polo game is back on Saturday at 3pm, with MHS alumni Steve Barber providing play by play, and class and school photos will take place in the football stadium on Saturday as well.

All guests will enjoy the custom photo booth both days.  Marauders will have multiple swag options this time with some cool additions.

Music will be provided by The K-Tel All Stars  Friday and Max 80s with Charice Rey guest appearance on Saturday. There will be a set of trivia questions for each day in the lounge.  Winners who submit them to the beer counter may win some nice Marauder gear.

Any and all parents are invited to come back on Friday night as well and we can send invites to those who would like us to do so.

Finally, the Memorial room will be back in the library.  With over 20 Marauders passing since the event in 2023, it means even more to pay our respects to those no longer with us.

MiralesteFest is on the Miraleste Intermediate Campus, Friday July 25th  (4pm to 11pm and Saturday July 26th (3pm to 11pm).
