Guided Nature Walk at Three Sisters Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 13th, 9am.  Hike through a scenic 21-acre restored coastal sage scrub habitat which is home to the threatened California gnatcatcher.  Moderate. Sign up at: pvplc.org/calendar

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, Monday, January 15th, 9am – 12pm – White Point Nature Preserve, 1600 W. Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.  Help us care for the White Point Native Plant Demonstration Garden by planting native shrubs, removing invasive weeds, watering plants, grooming trails and more! Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com

Native Plant Sales by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy – Saturday, January 13th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 1pm, Saturday, January 27th at White Point Nature Education Center 10:30am – 1pm. Monthly Plant Sales are Back! Come to our nature centers during our sales to learn more about growing local native plants and purchase some for your garden!

George F Canyon Guided Family Nature Preserve Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 6th, 10:30am.  You will be guided by a trained naturalist to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin.  Meet outside on the back deck of the George F Canyon Nature Center.  Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 6th, 9am – 12pm. Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 20th, 9am – 12pm and Saturday January 27th, 9am – 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site to create a home for rare cactus wrens and gnatcatchers with beautiful views of Catalina Island. Sign up at pvplc.volunteerhub.com

Guided Family Nature Walk at White Point Nature Preserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, January 20th, 10:30am.  Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean.  Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike.  Preserve parking available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo del Mar, San Pedro. Volunteer with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Rapid Response Team, Fridays & Saturdays, 9am - 12pm.  Work alongside the field staff to help protect important wildlife habitat.  Help with trail maintenance, fence building, installing signage and more!   Students can receive community service hours.  No experience needed. 15 and up.
