Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Presents: Palos Verdes Pastoral: Garden-to-Table Dining Event - Join an evening inspired by the charm of the Amalfi Coast and the biodiversity of the Mediterranean climate zone which Palos Verdes shares. Guests will enjoy flavors of the Mediterranean, curated menu and wine pairings inspired by both Amalfi and California native ingredients. Terranea Resort, Thursday, October 2, 2025, 5 pm. Follow the Tracks: Wildlife Tracking Workshop -Join a group of dedicated volunteers to monitor wild foxes and coyotes in the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve. Training is two sessions on Saturday, October 4, 11am-2pm and Saturday, October 11, 8:45am – 12pm. Must pre-register and attend both days to become a certified volunteer. 16 years + Register here

Waves, Wildlife & Wonder: Nature Walk at Pelican Cove with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, October 11th, 9am. Admire the picturesque ocean views and restored buckwheat-covered seaside bluff tops that support the recovery of the rare El Segundo blue butterfly. Moderate. Creatures of the Night: Nature Club for Kids with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, October 11th, 10:30am – 11:30. Join us for a nocturnal wildlife themed Nature Club at White Point Nature Education Center. We'll do fun activities and learn about how scientists study animals that come out at night! Ages 3-10 years old.
Night Flyers: Storytime Tails – Batty Bats with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Sunday, October 12th, 10:30-11:30am
Join us at White Point Nature Education Center for fun stories about the cool critters that live on the nature preserve with crafts and hands-on activities. Recommended for kids ages 3-6 and their caregivers.
Halloween Dog Parade with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy - 1 pm at White Point Nature Preserve in San Pedro. Costumed pups, strut your stuff with your owners in time for Halloween!

Wings & Wonders: Guided Bird Walk with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy on Wednesday, October 1st at 9am. Canyon Discoveries: Explore George F. Canyon with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, October 4th, 10:30am. Naturalists will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Meet on the back patio of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike. Parking in Preserve lot located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Rain cancels. Bring Nature Home: Native Plant Sales by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy – Saturday, October 11th at George F Canyon 10:30am – 12pm, located at 27305 Palos Verdes Dr E, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Create your own butterfly garden with a beautiful native plant from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Our native plant expert will give you professional tips on creating a garden waystation and home for local species! Join us Saturday, October 25th at White Point Nature Education Center located at 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro 10:30am – 12pm for another chance to get native plants.
Hidden Coastal Gems: Explore White Point with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, October 18th, 10:30am. Naturalists will guide you along a trail to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat with amazing views across to the ocean. Hands in the Soil: Help Restore Lunda Canyon Nature Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Saturday, October 11 and 25, 9am – 12pm. Help remove invasive weeds and care for a community restoration site to benefit wildlife. Students can receive community service hours.

Wings & Wildflowers: Beautify and Restore Habitat at Alta Vicente Reserve with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy , Saturday, October 18, 9am - 12pm. Come help us to restore habitat on the 22-acre restoration site for rare native birds (the cactus wren and California gnatcatcher) and rare native butterflies (Palos Verde Blue and El Segundo Blue). Hands in the Wild: Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy , Sunday, October 26, 9am – 12pm . Join us at White Point Nature Preserve! We will be working to maintain the preserve's restoration area of native plant species to improve critical habitat for wildlife at the preserve and beautify outdoor natural space for the community. Rapid Rescue for Nature: Join the Rapid Response Team of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy Join us Fridays and Saturdays from 9am t as part of a fast-acting team to help protect our trails and the important wildlife habitat around them! You will assist with easy to moderate trail maintenance activities such as closing unauthorized trails, trimming, and clearing brush, minor tread repair, and other projects (Minor hiking involved). 15 years+. Voices for the Wild: Join the Community Outreach Team of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy - Share your love of nature and the Peninsula at community events around the South Bay or greet participants at our free monthly guided nature walks.
