Step Inside the Creative Process - Tour d'Art October 4th & 5th

Dear Art Enthusiasts,

What happens when you combine hot wax with watercolor? How does colored clay become sculptural art? What transforms traditional tools into contemporary treasures? You'll discover the answers to these questions and so much more at Tour d'Art 2025, where the magic happens behind the studio doors.

Meet the Masters in Their Creative Spaces

This isn't just an art show, it's your invitation into the intimate world where art comes to life. Picture yourself chatting with artists surrounded by their tools, works-in-progress, and creative energy.

Joyce Welsh will show you the rare art of watercolor batik, where she skillfully combines hot wax and watercolor to create stunning local landscapes and florals. Few artists in our area practice this distinctive technique, and even fewer will invite you into their studio to see it firsthand.

Step into Jim Gardner's pottery studio and witness the fascinating Nerikome technique, where he uses colored clay to create intricate designs before the piece even hits the kiln. Watch decades of mastery at work as he transforms the earth into art.

Experience the textural wizardry of Janice Schultz, whose abstract paintings come alive through molding paste foundations and innovative tools that create surfaces you'll want to reach out and touch.

Discover Lisette Thierry's five decades of jewelry mastery, where traditional tools meet Sterling Silver and rare gemstones from around the world to create contemporary treasures.
