At the Movies – Being In Paris Again For the First Time By Writer and Contributor Stephanie Mardesich

After the BFI London Film Festival (LFF) in October was motivated  and  traveled to the Continent as I had in 2019 to Italy “…again for the first time.” This year Paris beckoned and for first time I traveled via  “Eurostar” train from London’s St. Pancras station arriving two hours and fifteen minutes later in Paris’s Gare du Nord train station.

At the Movies In London Again For the First Time at 67th BFI London Film Festival By Writer and Contributor Stephanie Mardesich

Since c. 2000 I’ve been a press delegate for the BFI London Film Festival (LFF) at least a dozen times, on “hiatus” since 2019 because of the global travel issues. I was glad to return in October (4th – 14th)  for the  67th annual event;  and great to be back in London, England “again for the first time” to enjoy the culture and terrain my favorite city I’ve traveled to countless times,  and lived in, see longtime friends and make new acquaintances.

“Singing Linebacker” John Papadakis (Palos Verdes Peninsula resident) didn’t leave his heart in San Francisco when he paid tribute to the late great crooner Tony Bennett – it was open to all in the “heart” of Hollywood at the Catalina Jazz Club – and the audience left with a piece of it after a fabulous concert September 21.
