Equestrian Vibes

If you love horses and like the equestrian lifestyle, the city of Rolling Hills Estates, on the Palos Verdes Peninsula was founded (Sept. 18, 1957) to promote vast, natural open spaces, and to enhance the equestrian lifestyle. Rolling Hills estates offers more than 90 miles of well-groomed riding trails, with weather that allows for riding year round.

Horse Stables

Palos Verdes Stables: Established in 1926, Palos Verdes Stables provides riding lessons, horse boarding and is close to the many miles of public riding trails. The trail rides are led by experienced guides, and the horses are safe for any level of riding experience.

 Portuguese Bend Riding Club: Stable your horse in comfort, the boarding service offers box stalls large or standard with bedding included. Box stalls with paddock included. Riding lessons, the beginner starts with a two-part individual session learning how to handle a horse from the ground up.

 Mystic Canyon Stable: Teaching English saddle, Western saddle, Bareback pad, Bareback and how to care for and handle a horse. The instructors teach responsible horsemanship where students learn the whole horse from head to hoof.

Equestrian Centers

Peter Weber Equestrian Center: Located in Rolling Hills Estates the equestrian center offers horse boarding, horseback riding lessons, bring your own horse or ride one the center's gentle horses. Their trainers train riders in Western style riding or English style. The equine center hosts birthday parties with a petting zoo for child after school enrichment programs.

Horse Properties

The Palos Verdes area, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills are about the only places zoned for horses in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Searching multiple listings online will identify the various horse properties for sale. Many realtors recommend the Dapplegrey area of Rolling Hills Estates for horse properties. Be prepared to shell big bucks for these properties, as most for over one million dollars.

 4 The Love Of Horses: The teaching technique here is educational and interactive, where students learn everything they need to know about horses. Then they are taught to ride.

Ride To Fly Therapeutic Lessons

Ride To Fly, a non-profit that provides therapeutic horsemanship to children and adults with disabilities is a credit to the community. A member of PATH International (Professional  Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) has been serving the South Bay since 1994. The organization is strictly volunteer relying on corporate donations, generous individuals, charging only minimal fees for lessons. They do it all with no government funding. The horses used for therapy are chosen for their gentle dispositions and are highly trained.
