Famous Christmas Lights at Sleepy Hollow

By Dana Graham

Every December, tucked away in the south west corner of Torrance is the famous Christmas Light Area, which has been covered on the TV news and in newspapers.  Also known to locals as Sleepy Hollow, this was the first housing development in South Torrance, built in 1946 and officially known as Seaside Ranchos.

A special Christmas event for many South Bay-ers is to visit this area during December to see the spectacular decorations put up by the residents.  These are not your average Christmas decorations, as you will see when you go -- It's almost like Main Street at Disneyland with animation of all kinds and all sorts of clever and entertaining displays.  They even serve hot cocoa and cinnamon punch to the visitors.  This is an annual South Bay event not to be missed.
