Blessing of the Animals Event to be held at Riviera United Methodist Church on October 5th 2025
Riviera United Methodist Church is excited to announce its second annual “Blessing of the Animals,” a special community-wide event, on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
All animal lovers are warmly invited to bring their furry, feathered, or scaled companions to be blessed by The Reverend Sunyoung Lee and to enjoy the company of other animal lovers. This unique, free event aims to celebrate the love and companionship that animals bring into our lives. Pictures of pets can also be blessed.
The Blessing of the Animals will take place at Riviera United Methodist Church, located at 375 Palos Verdes Blvd, Redondo Beach, Calif. The worship service will begin at 10 a.m., with the blessing of the animals immediately following the service at 11 a.m. All types of well-behaved companions are welcome.
Following the blessing, there will be a lively gathering with music and refreshments available for all attendees. Informational tables featuring non-profits dedicated to animal welfare, including Love On 4 Paws and Canine Companions International will also be on-site, providing valuable resources for animal lovers. Everyone who attends will receive a special blessing card for their furry, feathered or scaled friend as a memento of the occasion.
Love On 4 Paws is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization committed to making a positive difference for those in need through animal assisted therapy. Founded in 1977, its focus is on trained volunteers and their dogs visiting with adults and special needs children in hospitals and healthcare facilities, as well as visiting schools and participating in community events.
Canine Companions International marks its 50th anniversary in 2025, having created the concept of what is now the modern-day service dog, which are provided free of charge to persons with disabilities.
This pawsome day of celebration, community, and love for our animal companions is open to the public.
