The cool and popular First Thursday ArtWalk in San Pedro returned on August the 5th. The First Thursday festivities are located in the historic section of San Pedro at 6th St., with live music at 6th Street and Mesa. Featured activities included outdoor dining, live music, and open galleries There was also a guided artwork tour.

August is always a very special month for me as President of the Marilyn Remembered Fan Club. On August 5th, 1962, Marilyn was found dead in her home in Brentwood in an apparent drug overdose. Each year since 1982, we have celebrated her life with a memorial service at Westwood Village Park Cemetery in Westwood.

At one time, the 3,200 acres of the El Segundo Sand Dunes near Los Angeles International Airport was believed to have supported a population of nearly 750,000 of these tiny creatures.
